We Help Fix Their Repair Mistakes

This is an iPhone 6 Plus we were repairing under contract for another store. They’d attempted to replace the display and straighten the frame- but unfortunately it wasn’t powering up. We replaced the Tristar chip as this is usually the problem in cases like this.

Unfortunately, the phone still wasn’t coming on. We could tell at this point that the board had a short on it. On taking a closer look, we noticed one of the standoffs was broken- apparently this was because the screw that had been used in the hole was too long, and caused damage to the board.

Once we’d removed the standoff the short disappeared, and the iPhone is in working order once more.
