How Cleaning Your Dusty Fan Can Solve PC Performance Issues

If your computer fan looks this dusty, it’s not just an aesthetic issue- it’s fairly certain that it’s also affecting the cooling- and performance- of your PC!

This fan isn’t as bad as some- for all that it’s dusty, it’s only “grey” dust that was relatively easy to remove as part of another repair we were already carrying out for a customer. In other environments- including those where people smoke regularly- you tend to get a more sticky, brown dust that’s more unpleasant and harder to remove.

If you think your PC’s performance or cooling is suffering, then it’s definitely worth checking out whether it needs cleaned inside. If it’s something you feel you can blow out yourself, that’s fine.
