Apple MacBook A1181 Screen Replacement

This week we’re taking a look at a screen replacement for a MacBook (model: A1181). As you can see in one of the photos, the LCD itself has been damaged and some of the liquid crystal has leaked, giving that commonplace “cracked LCD” look.

As always, we show the main steps in the repair process, but we’re not claiming that this shows absolutely everything. (In fact, we’ll admit to leaving out a few hard-won tricks that we’re not planning on giving away to our rivals!) Bear in mind also that our technician has a level of experience with MacBooks that make this look easy- in fact there are a lot of pitfalls that you probably don’t want to learn the hard way!

It's not so obvious in this photo, but this rather nice MacBook has some rather nasty screen damage.

Now we're able to get inside.

The screen damage is more obvious in this photo; note the black marks on the display where the LCD has been broken.

Done! The MacBook is now as good as new. A few checks to confirm everything's working, and it can be returned to the customer.
